여친과 덕수궁 돌담길을 함께 걸으면 헤어지는 이유? Deoksugung Stone Wall

지금의 서울시립미술관 자리에 대법원과 서울가정법원이 있었기 때문에 이혼을 하러 법원을 찾는 부부들이 이 길을 지난 데서 유래했다는 말이 있으며 

진짜 수긍이 가는 이유는

덕수궁 돌담길이 끊어진 데서 유래했다는 말이 있다.

온전히 연결돼 있던 덕수궁 돌담길은 외국 대사관이 들어서면서 끊어졌는데 이 땅의 마지막 제국인 대한제국의 마지막 #황제 순종께서도 궁궐을 한 바퀴 돌다 끊어져 막힌 길에 서서 통한의 눈물을 흘리며 대한황실의 명맥이 멈추었다며 흐느껴 울었다고 한다.

순종황제 당시 법궁이던 덕수궁의 많은 전각이 일제 만행으로 훼손되어 철거될 때 마다 궁인들의 통한이 삼켜진 울음과 한이 담장에 서렸다고 한다.

당시 일제로 부터 작위를 받은 친일 민족반역자들은 황제가 계신데도 서슴없이 법궁 덕수궁 전각을 뜯어다가 제 집에 별당을 지었다.

이 때마다 이를 지켜볼 수 밖에 없었던 궁인들과 수많은 의기있는 백성들의 분노가 돌담에 서리고 법궁에서 떨어져 나가는 전각 여인들의 (전각에는 황제를 모시는 시녀들이 살았으니) 한이 서렸기 때문이다.

그러나 2018년 덕수궁 돌담길은 완전 복원되었으니 연인과 함께 걸어도 헤어지는 이유가 될수 없다.

There is a superstition that if you walk along the Deoksugung Stone Wall Path in Seoul with your girlfriend, you will break up.

The reason behind this superstition is that the location of the current Seoul Museum of Art used to be occupied by the Supreme Court and Seoul Family Court. It is said that couples who came to the court for divorce originated from walking along this path.

The plausible reason behind it is that the Deoksugung Stone Wall Path was interrupted. The path used to be connected, but it was severed when foreign embassies were established. It is said that Emperor Sunjong, the last emperor of the Korean Empire, shed tears at the blocked path after taking a complete tour around the palace and lamented that the lineage of the Korean imperial family had come to an end.

During Emperor Sunjong's reign, many buildings in Deoksugung Palace, which served as a royal palace at that time, were damaged and demolished by Japanese colonial forces. Each time this happened, it was said that there were cries swallowed by grief from palace residents and grievances echoed through the stone walls.

Despite having an emperor present, collaborators with imperial Japan shamelessly tore down various buildings in Deoksugung Palace and built annexes for themselves.

The anger of palace residents who could only watch over these actions and numerous indignant citizens resonated through the stone walls along with tears shed by women leaving their former residences (as maids serving under Emperor) within those buildings as they separated from their beloved emperor.

However, as of 2018, #Deoksugung_Stone_Wall Path has been completely restored. Therefore, walking along this path with your loved one cannot be a reason for breaking up anymore.
